Position Title: Admissions Officer - English

Start Date: Immediately 

Position Summary:

      Under the direction of the Marketing and Admissions Manager, the incumbent will demonstrate a high degree of independence, initiative, creativity, judgment and responsibility in the areas of student recruitment and admissions. Primary responsibilities include: planning, organizing and promoting school programs, tours and information sessions; developing strategic student recruitment plans; receiving and responding to inquires from prospective students and parents through email and/or faxes; processing student applications according to the admissions criteria and policies of the school; developing brochures and other related print material geared at attracting local elementary and high school students, working closely with guidance department, accounting office and residence office regarding student service issues; providing all necessary services to students.

Qualifications 

Education:

      University degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience:

2 years recent related experience

Skills:

    Demonstrated skills/abilities in the following areas: knowledge of Ontario elementary, high school and postsecondary educational systems; general procedural advising & counseling skills so as to analyze, synthesize, evaluate and interpret information in order to formulate and present an appropriate response; exercising good judgment; attending accurately to details and working effectively under pressure of high volume; exercising tact and diplomacy; dealing courteously and effectively with customers & co-workers; strong analytical skills to aid in identifying strategic recruiting initiatives; ability to work independently and as part of a team; effective interpersonal and public relations skills; good written communication skills; effective organizational skills; maintaining confidentiality; working knowledge of: a variety of application-software (e.g. MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access); Web searching/navigation tools to research information via the Internet; electronic mail.
